Steinaker State Park, Utah
One of the first reservoirs built under the Central Utah Project, Steinaker has stored irrigation water for northeastern Utah since opening in 1964. The 825-acre lake sits at 5,500 feet north of Vernal, with a sandy beach, swim dock, and picnic areas drawing swimmers alongside anglers, water skiers, wakeboarders, and paddlers who share the water with strict mussel-prevention checks.
